Believe in what you do

14 December 2022
‘Make sure they are…gifted with knowledge…and are suited to serve.’

When Daniel arrived in Babylon, he was a slave. But he rose to the top because of these qualifications: ‘Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve.’ To be promoted in anything, we must first prove ourselves worthy and capable. The Bible says, ‘Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings’ (Proverbs 22:29 NIV). Unless we believe in what we’re doing, we won’t give ourselves fully to it, and we can’t expect to truly succeed and reach our potential.

Have you ever walked into a room and felt love, energy, and excitement? Our thoughts have a presence; they’re like currents moving through the air, capable of drawing people to us or driving them away. Our attitude is always sensed. That’s why it’s so important to believe in what we’re doing. Do you? If you don’t – pray and ask God to relocate you to somewhere that you can put your whole heart into.

Jesus totally believed in His product. He told the woman at the well, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst’ (John 4:13-14 NIV). We must take the time and make the effort to know everything about the work we’re doing and the tasks given to us. We might just want to get it over and done with so we can get on with life. But we’ll never reach our full potential that way. Jesus spent time praying in order to renew His understanding of His purpose. So today, pray and believe in what you do!

What Now?

Have a check-in with God about your attitude and where your heart’s at. Ask Him if you need to make any changes so you can wholeheartedly believe in what you’ve been tasked with.
